Lifeboat week 2017. Each year the town of Swanage plays host to Swanage Lifeboat Week. The week is run by the volunteers of the Swanage Lifeboat Crew as well as various Fundraisers and valued helpers. The object is to raise awareness of The Swanage Lifeboat and raise much-needed funds for local use.
Events include Sailing, Gig Racing, Duck Racing, Golf and various others. At the end of the week, the crew arrange a free event over Friday and Saturday with bands and BBQ.

The week has many events some such as sailing may not be the best spectator event. The BBQ and bands on the Friday and Saturday night always prove popular with locals and visitors alike.
